Our Mission

Point A was inspired by three students who have personal experience with fibrosis. Driven by their own exposure to different types of the disease, the team chose to focus on pulmonary and cystic fibrosis.

Because of the smaller patient size, information and action in regard to CF was scarce. In order to address concerns of those wishing to learn more about the field, Point A Fibrosis was founded in late 2022 and is the only 501(c)3 in the Bay Area dedicated to fibrosis.

As the organization grew, the mission expanded to also focus on individuals with pulmonary fibrosis, a lung disease resulting from tissue scarring. The team expanded around the country and many new chapters were formed to help bring change for those with any type of fibrosis.

Point A Fibrosis aims to connect patients with providers and other members of the fibrosis community. By bridging the content and knowledge gap, the organization promotes new findings and generates accessibility to advanced treatment. Through our services, campaigns, and content, Point A brings a new light to fibrosis patients around the country.

Microsoft’s Nonprofits Partnership with Point A Fibrosis enables us to access tools needed to manage our organization. Microsoft Azure has given a grant to allow us to use their platforms.

Google Logo

Through a partnership via the Google Nonprofits Program, Google has provided Point A Fibrosis with monthly grants for our ad campaigns.

Micron Technologies has introduced Point A Fibrosis into their employee matching programs. In addition to 501(c)3 tax exemption, the program will continue to help our mission.
